The Malta Volleyball Association, in collaboration with Qormi Volleyball Club, recently organised a Social Volleyball league at the Cottonera Sports Complex.
The popular league, now in it’s fourth year, attracted a number of non registered MVA players and had a participation of 15 teams. Together with non Super-league players from Qormi, Flyers , Playvolley and TGIF, all established clubs participating in official MVA league, the league also attracted teams from the Filippino Community in Malta, the Central Bank and other volleyball enthusiasts. Teams were divided into three groups and games were played on three courts with Volleymates 1, Play Volley and Central Bank emerging respective winners.
Whilst the skill was synonymous with the level of the meeting, all teams played competitively despite there being a prevailing friendly atmosphere throughout the event. Finger foods and drinks were served at the end of the meeting.
THE MVA would like to thank Ms. Odile Micallef and Ms. Moira Puli for the organistaion of the Social Volleyball League and invite participants to take part in another Social Volleyball League which will be held at the University Sports Hall as well as a Volleyball meeting in aid of Puttinu Cares Marathon. Interested parties are invited to inform the MVA of their interest to participate by writing to the MVA Vice President at [email protected] .
